I’ve been using Skype for about 8 months or so. If you’re not familiar with it, it’s basically a phone service using your computer and the internet instead of a standard phone. If you talk to other people that have Skype installed, it’s free, and always has been.
If you want to use your computer to talk to someone with a normal phone though, you’ve had to pay minutes for SkypeOut service. But it seems that until the end of the year, even that is free now, essentially giving you free long distance calling using your computer.
