A Switch to Wordpress

My first entry in this blog was talking about how I’d finally figured out how to setup SQL databases and all that good stuff, and how I’d gotten started with Movable Type. It worked out fairly well, but it wasn’t long before things started to bug me.

For starters, there are ten times as many themes available for Wordpress, which is what I needed to see how they tick. There are also a lot more plugins available. But most of all, MT was driving me crazy with the fact that you have to constantly refresh your templates, etc. when you make changes. It got old.

Thankfully, this was still a new blog, so there wasn’t much to import. The transition was relatively painless, and I’m starting to mess around with themes and plugins.

I even made this theme, which is amazing, since I have no idea what I’m doing.

Thanks! Still have some tweaking to do, but it’s fun learning how this all works.
