This is a movie I rented recently. I’m still not sure if I liked it overall…there was some really beautiful camera work here, and there were some interesting story elements, but it was also kind of confusing. It was one of those movies that shifts around through different timelines, which is sometimes cool and sometimes has you thinking “wha?”
It can be very slow at times, so if you’re one of those that needs a lot of things happening for it to hold your attention, you may be disappointed. But there’s also something about it that I liked about the characters and relationships, however flawed.
Has a strange blend of past and futuristic themes, and is sort of a Chinese Science Fiction/Love story.
